Nothing on FMP for his time with the Marines . Mike knew he had been in the Marines

After leaving the Marines " he joined Scout Motors as a motor mechanic (Very progressive at that time !)

Scout Motors were based in Salisbury. They built cars and commercial vehicles from 1909 to 1921.

Whilst in this employment he began delivering new cars to clients. It was then his job the help the new owner to engage a chauffeur and then train the chauffeur in how both to drive and maintain the new vehicle, before returning to the factory.

It was while working for Scout Motors that he delivered a car to a Mr Moffet at Hampworth Lodge, near Redlynch in the New Forest, who then persuaded my Grandfather to leave Scout and join the staff on the estate, where he worked until he retired.". This presumably after the War. Would he have been called up in 1915- aged 40? - I doubt it

"Frank Street, my grandfather, 1875 - 1960. In his early life I believe he served in the military ( I think in the Marines )

Then as a civilian he joined Scout Motors as a motor mechanic (Very progressive at that time !)

Whilst in this employment he began delivering new cars to clients. It was then his job the help the new owner to engage a chauffeur and then train the chauffeur in how both to drive and maintain the new vehicle, before returning to the factory.

It was while working for Scout Motors that he delivered a car to a Mr Moffet at Hampworth Lodge, near Redlynch in the New Forest, who then persuaded my Grandfather to leave Scout and join the staff on the estate, where he worked until he retired.

During his life he married 3 times:-

"2. Ella.. Corbett ......
who died whilst staying on the Isle of Wight during W.W.2 1945" .Frank Street remarried Ella Corbett Salisbury Dec 1938. Ella C Street, aged 61, died I Wight Sep 1945

1939 Reg. The Stables, Hamptworth Lodge Landsford, Salisbury

Frank Street 22 Feb 1875 Male Chauffeur ( Private ) Married 12 1
Ella Street 16 May 1884 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Married 12 2

"When my grandfather retired he had to move from his estate house so he and his 3rd wife went to live near Salisbury ( probably Laverstock) where he eventually died, I believe, in 1960."
